BTC perpetual futures on 8 exchanges
Funding rate, maximum leverage and margin tiers for BTC on Binance, OKX, Bybit, Gate, Bitget, Hyperliquid, MEXC, KuCoin, side by side. Data as of 11 Oct 2026, 09:06 UTC.
The highest leverage on BTC is 500x, on MEXC; Hyperliquid allows up to 40x.
Funding, converted to an 8-hour rate, ranges from -0.0098% on Hyperliquid to +0.0032% on Bybit, so longs pay on some exchanges and shorts on others.
At 20x, the largest position you can open ranges from about 50,000,000 USDT on Bybit to 82,992,400,000,000,000,000 USDT on MEXC.
Positive funding means longs pay shorts. Rates are converted to an 8-hour period because exchanges settle every 1 or 8 hours for BTC. Live rates: funding rate table.
Position value in the margin currency. "—" means the exchange doesn't allow that leverage for BTC, or doesn't publish the limit (BingX lists only its first tier).
Reading these numbers
Maximum leverage only applies to small positions. Every exchange splits a contract into margin tiers: as the position grows, the allowed leverage falls and the maintenance margin rate rises, so the liquidation price moves closer to entry. The second table shows where each exchange draws those lines for BTC. If you plan a large position, check it there before choosing the exchange.
Funding is paid between longs and shorts, not to the exchange. Over a position held for days it often costs more than trading fees, and the rate can differ a lot between exchanges for the same coin.
